An MTC (Missionary Training Center) is a training facility where Mormon missionaries prepare before entering the mission field. The largest and best known is in Provo, Utah, near Brigham Young University, though others exist around the world.
Missionaries typically spend 3–9 weeks at the MTC, depending on whether they are learning a foreign language. During this time, they receive instruction in LDS doctrine, teaching methods, and mission rules. Their schedules are highly structured, with classes, study, practice teaching, and devotional meetings.
