A slang term used to describe someone who is baptized in the LDS Church but does not actively participate in its practices. A “Jack Mormon” may retain cultural or family ties to the church without regular attendance, temple participation, or adherence to church standards. The phrase has historically carried a slightly negative or dismissive connotation, suggesting someone who is Mormon in name only. In some communities, it has also been applied more loosely to those who sympathize with or support Latter-day Saints without being active members themselves. While less formal than other labels, it remains part of LDS cultural vocabulary.
