A worldwide gathering of the LDS Church held twice a year (April and October). Leaders of the church, including the president, apostles, and other general authorities, deliver talks that are broadcast to members worldwide. These sermons are later published and treated as official guidance from living prophets and apostles.
General Conference is considered a spiritual highlight for members and is often quoted in lessons and personal study. Many Mormons view the messages as modern scripture, since leaders are regarded as prophets, seers, and revelators.
