Fast and Testimony Meeting - Truth in Love Ministry

Dictionary of Mormonese

Fast and Testimony Meeting

A monthly meeting, usually held on the first Sunday, in which LDS members are encouraged to fast for two meals and donate the money saved as a fast offering. During the meeting, instead of prepared sermons, members are invited to come forward and share personal testimonies.

These testimonies often emphasize belief in Joseph Smith, the Book of Mormon, living prophets, and the LDS Church, along with expressions of faith in Jesus Christ. This meeting reflects both the importance of fasting and the central role of testimony-bearing in Mormon religious life.
