Endowment

In Mormonism, the endowment is a temple ceremony in which members make covenants with God and receive instruction, promises, and spiritual power. It is considered one of the essential ordinances of the LDS plan of salvation. The endowment includes symbolic teaching about God’s plan, commitments to obedience, and ritual clothing, such as the temple garment.

The endowment is required for exaltation and is viewed as a source of strength for faithful living. Members are expected to participate before serving a mission or marrying in the temple. Because it is tied to eternal covenants, the endowment highlights the LDS belief that progression toward eternal life depends on receiving temple ordinances and keeping the promises made there.
