Mormons view Adam very differently from Christians. He is honored as a hero who made the right choice by eating the fruit, allowing God’s spirit children to be born into physical bodies. In LDS teaching, the Fall was a necessary and positive step in God’s plan of salvation, giving humanity the chance to progress toward exaltation.
When talking with Mormons, it’s important to recognize that they do not see Adam’s action as sinful in the same way Christians do. The Fall, for them, was part of God’s design — not a rebellion that brought condemnation.
Biblical Christianity teaches that Adam’s disobedience brought sin, death, and separation from God into the world (Romans 5:12). His choice revealed humanity’s need for a Savior. Through the “second Adam,” Jesus Christ, believers are restored to life and fellowship with God (1 Corinthians 15:22).
