In Mormonism, the Celestial Kingdom is the highest of the three degrees of glory (heavenly kingdoms). It is believed to be the dwelling place of God the Father and Jesus Christ, reserved for the most faithful Latter-day Saints. Those who inherit the Celestial Kingdom must have accepted the LDS gospel, received temple ordinances, and kept their covenants through faithful obedience.
Within the Celestial Kingdom itself, there are additional degrees of glory, and only those sealed in eternal marriage can reach the highest level—called exaltation—where they may live as gods and continue eternal family relationships.
Biblical Christianity teaches that heaven is not divided into levels of worthiness but is a gift of grace received through faith in Christ alone (Ephesians 2:8–9). Those who trust in Jesus already have full assurance of eternal life with God, not because of personal faithfulness, but because of Christ’s perfect obedience and finished work (John 14:2–3; Romans 5:1–2).
