Have you ever purchased a gift so perfect that you couldn’t wait to give it? When we know the gift will bring great delight to the recipient, it’s hard to wait. That kind of perfect gift brings great joy to both the receiver and the giver.
On the first Christmas night, the angel finally got to announce the delivery of the best gift ever given. The majestic messenger proclaimed,
“Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. Today in the town of David, a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ, the Lord.”
Luke 2:10-11
And what did those startled shepherds do with this good news of great joy? First, they hurried off to Bethlehem to see this gift. Then they hurried from Bethlehem to share it.
Jesus is the perfect gift. Christmas brings joy for both the receiver and giver as they see and share and go to and from Bethlehem.
This Christmas, join your family and friends joyfully going to Bethlehem to see this thing that has happened. Receive the perfect gift. Then go joyfully from Bethlehem to spread the word concerning what has been told to you about this child. Give the perfect gift.
