Dates & Times

Sunday, October 16, 10:30 am–12:30 pm
If you have Latter-day Saint (LDS) friends, neighbors, coworkers, or family members, you may feel both a desire and a hesitation: How do I have meaningful conversations without being awkward, argumentative, or getting lost in unfamiliar terms?
This workshop is designed to help.
Over one focused weekend, you’ll gain a clearer understanding of LDS beliefs and culture, learn how certain words can mean very different things in LDS vs. biblical Christianity, and walk away with practical ways to build relationships and have gospel-centered conversations that are both truthful and loving.
What We’ll Cover
- Know Your LDS Neighbors: Get oriented to the beliefs, language, and lived experience of your LDS neighbors so your conversations can be thoughtful, informed, and compassionate.
- Know the LDS Plan of Salvation
- Know the Top 10 Words to Handle With Care
- Know LDS culture and the current religious landscape
- Know the Four Key Biblical Concepts: This session focuses on four foundational concepts that often sound similar on the surface—but are understood very differently.
- A look at sin, grace, faith, and works, and how Mormonism and biblical Christianity view them differently
- Using Ephesians 2:1–10 as our framework
- Helpful questions and illustrations you can use in real conversations
- Using Mormon Temples to Share Christ: Mormon temples present an exceptional opportunity for Christians to engage in meaningful conversations about faith, sin, and the complete work of Christ.
- Understanding the Biblical Temple: Explore the Old Testament Tabernacle/Temple to learn profound lessons about sin, separation from God, and how every detail points powerfully to Jesus Christ, our perfect substitute.
- Insights into Mormon Temples: Learn about the purpose, significance, and emotional impact of Mormon temples.
- Practical Witnessing Strategies: Discover effective techniques for engaging respectfully and thoughtfully with your Mormon friends, neighbors, and loved ones.
Sunday, October 18th
Pastor Mike Cherney will be preaching for the 10:30 am worship service, followed by a special presentation: Understanding Why the Two Kinds of Righteousness Matter.
In this final session, discover the biblical difference between passive righteousness before God and active righteousness before others—and why this distinction is key to assurance and gospel clarity, and is such an excellent tool for effective evangelism.
Who Should Attend?
- Christians looking for practical ways to share their faith
- Anyone interested in meaningful conversations with Mormon friends or family
- Believers eager to deepen their understanding of Christ’s fulfillment of Old Testament symbolism
Whether you’re joining us for one or both days, we pray this witnessing workshop will bless you as you grow in your faith and witnessing skills!
