Engaging in Gospel Conversations: How to Use Mormon Temple Open Houses to Share Christ
Mormon temple open houses present an exceptional opportunity for Christians to engage in meaningful conversations about faith, sin, and the complete work of Christ. Whether you’re experienced or eager to witness for the first time, this training will equip and inspire you.
This is a Truth in Love Ministry training, led by Missionary Mark Parsons.
Here’s what you can expect:
- Understanding the Biblical Temple:
- Explore the Old Testament Tabernacle/Temple to learn profound lessons about sin, separation from God, and how every detail points powerfully to Jesus Christ, our perfect substitute.
- Insights into Mormon Temples:
- Gain clarity on the purpose, significance, and emotional impact of Mormon temples. Understand key Mormon teachings such as eternal families, proxy work, and temple ordinances.
- Practical Witnessing Strategies:
- Discover effective techniques for engaging respectfully and thoughtfully with Mormon missionaries, temple volunteers, and attendees, using the O.I.L.S. method: Observe, Invite, Listen, and Share.
- Hands-On Experience:
- After an afternoon of training, we’ll break for dinner at 5:00 PM. Pack a meal or grab food from local restaurants, including the Mexican restaurant located next to the church.
- At 6:15 PM, we’ll reconvene at the Syracuse Utah Temple, located at 1025 S 2500 W, Syracuse, UT 84075, for a guided open house tour, followed by live opportunities to practice your witnessing skills on temple grounds.
