After the Visits: Trust God to Keep Working
Keep Praying. Stay Ready. Trust the Seed You Planted.
Your final visit with the missionaries may seem like the end of the road, but it’s not the end of the story.
You’ve taken a bold step. You opened the door, listened well, and shared the hope you have in Christ. That seed has been planted. And the God who caused it to take root in your heart is fully capable of growing it in theirs—even long after they’ve left your porch.
Keep Praying
Pray for the missionaries by name. Ask God to remind them of the verses you shared, the love you showed, and the Jesus you pointed to. Pray that the Spirit would bring conviction, clarity, and peace in unexpected ways.
Stay Ready
This may not be your only opportunity. Many missionaries return after a transfer. Others keep in touch via email or social media. And now that you’ve had practice, you’ll be more prepared to speak with LDS co-workers, neighbors, or future missionaries who come to your door.
Keep learning. Keep asking good questions. And keep soaking in the grace of Jesus—because the more confident you are in him, the more clearly you’ll speak when the next opportunity comes.
Trust the Seed You Planted
You may never know what happened next in their life. But you can be certain that God used you. Your kindness, curiosity, and confidence in Jesus may echo in their heart at just the right time. God’s word does not return empty. Ever.
As Paul once wrote:
“I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God has been making it grow.”
1 Corinthians 3:6
So take heart. You showed up. You opened the door. You spoke the truth in love. Now, trust God to do the growing.
