How often should I repeat the main truths?

This is a common question after people have visited with the missionaries a few times. Maybe you’ve already talked about sin and salvation a couple of times. Now you wonder: Should I revisit those topics—or move on to something else?

The answer is simple: yes, repeat them!

Repetition is the mother of learning. People often need to hear something many times before they even begin to grasp it, especially when it’s a completely different way of thinking about God and salvation.

This is especially true for Mormon missionaries. Most have never wrestled deeply with the seriousness of sin or the magnitude of God’s saving love.

They need to hear these truths again and again—not because you’re being pushy, but because you’re being loving and patient.

That’s why we’ve provided a variety of ways to talk about both topics. By approaching sin and salvation from slightly different angles each time, you can repeat the main message without sounding repetitive. Each new conversation becomes another opportunity for the Spirit to press God’s truth deeper into their hearts.
