Mormonism teaches that Jesus Christ is the Savior and Redeemer of the world. He was the first spirit child of Heavenly Father and a heavenly mother. He was the only son physically begotten by Heavenly Father and a human (Mary). He was foreordained to His calling and under the direction of Heavenly Father, created the earth and everything on it. Only His life provides the perfect example of how all people should live. He is the Savior by living a sinless life and carrying out His divine mission by atoning for all the sins of the world, suffering in the Garden of Gethsemane, and dying on the cross. These acts enable all people to conquer physical death and be resurrected on judgment day.

Biblical Christianity teaches:
Jesus Christ is the Son of God, equal to the Father and the Holy Spirit. (John 5:22-23) He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. The Bible reveals that despite our greatest efforts, human beings cannot save themselves. God demands perfection. To rescue us from sin, God became flesh to live under the law and to satisfy the law in our place. Jesus Christ was the perfect Savior by atoning for the sins of the world. Through faith alone, we receive the full benefit of Christ’s work on our behalf.
